Noticing the sun going down he put his helmet back on and and collected everything he laid out to count back into there respective pouches. He looked at his helmet for a few seconds staring at the yellow tinted HUD and thought about what its intended purpose was. Grabbing it he put it on and the airlock systems sealed the helmet to the suit and turning on the helmets system. He got on the ATV and started it up wondering what to do. He decided to go and look for something like what those two head a small Station were he could call his own if he decided to leave the area. Kicking up the ATV he drove out the cave and ventured off into the deep wasteland while the sun continued to go down.
“How do you plan on surviving with us? You aren’t permitted to eat any of my men and we won’t begin raiding for a while. You’ll starve before you get your chance.” Richter was hoping to scare her off a bit. Even though he was saying this he wondered how she did plan on getting through this. Richter couldn’t make her leave just yet, but soon enough he would be able to. Once her thirst returned she would leave without much prodding.
Although the transfusion bag wasn’t quite empty, Cosette licked her lips & put it to the side. She smiled at Richter’s words, an amused gleam in her heterochromatic eyes. She understood why he was trying to scare her off, that much was obvious, but she thought he should consider himself rather lucky. If she didn’t want to toy around with him, she would have easily finished him off after getting her fill with the blood-filled bag she’d drank first. At the moment, her powers were completely rejuvenated. This made her smile return, although a very mischievous one.
“Listen, I’ve been searching for some humans for a while now & just when I do find some, you expect me to leave all of you alone?” Cosette asked after getting into a sitting position again. She tilted her head slightly as she watched him, her wicked smile still there although a little smaller. “If I get mad, I kill; if I don’t, then I won’t kill.”
Richter rolled his eyes and sighed. “If your going to stay you may as well be comfortable. I suppose I’ll let you stay in here. I don’t think I’d trust everyone out in the crew,” he said and gestured to one of the other couches. Richter knew he had to keep her with him for now. The guys in the crew were like most guys and they would to whatever they had to, to get with a woman. In addition to that there was an old saying that was repeating itself in the back of his mind. ‘Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.’
Richter pulled his handgun and began to systematically disassemble his revolver. He was making small minor repairs to the gun to keep it in working order. He used some small parts he had found to make those repairs before reloading the handgun with ten rounds. The .45 caliber revolver was in fit condition and he kept it that way. It was the quickest weapon he had to save his life quickly. With this new threat in the room he might need it.
Cosette giggled when he rolled his eyes, not at all bothered by the gesture. She took the blood bag with her as she accepted his offer to get on the other couch. Although she felt a little nervous about Richter playing around with a gun, she laid atop the softness of something other than a hard counter & closed her eyes. “I’m not asking for your trust,” she replied to his previous words in a soft tone, for that much she already knew about him.
After a moment, Cosette reopened her eyes & looked up at the ceiling with a thoughtful look on her face. She couldn’t help but keep wondering how the hostile male’s blood would taste. Everyone’s blood had a bit of a different flavor, depending on their blood type & their health. Many times before, she’d gotten very unlucky with a disgusting human life source, but she had grown to detect which ones were better than the rest. RIchter, of course, seemed to be one of those sweet-tasting ones.
“I’m… bored,” Cosette muttered with a frown. She turned to her side & looked over at him, hoping to kill her boredom by watching him.
Creo drove around looking around seeing different things such as ghouls, bugs, mutants and the like. He wondered what if he was going to find a nice small place to settle as his safe house, and just his luck he came across an abandon gas station. Or to him what looked like it was abandon, he parked his ATV out near the back and took out his blaster pistol. He tapped on the door way and noticed some ghouls. Cleaning them out with a few shots to the head, he picked up there body and fling them out into the wasteland to rot.
Looking around he found a break room and a back room where most of the food was stored before the disaster. Most of the food if not all were ruined seeing as most of them rotted from the inside of the wrappers. Some however he noticed stayed good which were the canned goods and the water on the side. Creo grabbing a bottle of water and a canned beans and went into the break room which had a chair , broken TV, and what seemed to be a couch but was badly damaged. He sat on the couch took off his helmet and set it next to him opened the can and started eating for a little.
Richter did not reply to her comment of boredom. Night was beginning to fall over the wasteland and that meant that the world of raiders was beginning to shut down. If they didn’t have a planned raid they didn’t go out at night. It was at night that many creatures of the wasteland emerged to hunt. Most injuries and casualties occurred at night, when visibility was poor. Richter only ambushed at night and since they didn’t have one planned that meant it was time to lock up and get some shut eye.
Cosette almost pouted when Richter didn’t answer her but instead, she sighed. & as she continued to look at him, her mind wondered off into different, curious thoughts. She was nurtured into a curious vampire, so such interested thoughts were always with her.
After sitting up & placing her blood bag on her lap, Cosette started playing with her hair. She wondered just how long it would take her to win the little game they seemed to be playing. It was only a matter of time, that much she knew. However, with every human—every delicious prey—the time between meeting them & sinking her fangs into their flesh always varied. She also knew that, but she was beginning to get a little impatient.
“So… what now?” Cosette asked, taking her eyes from her blonde hair to look at Richter.
Richter sighed, again with her questions. “Nothing. It’s night. We do nothing at night unless previously planned. You may do as you wish, but if any of my men or myself come to harm of your actions then, well I think you get the picture.” Richter couldn’t understand why she didn’t get the fact that there was nothing to do but wait for morning. It was too dangerous to go out into the wasteland without risking losing a man and some of the mutated animals out there weren’t very nice either.
After hearing his response, Cosette didn’t say anything for a moment. She found it a little odd that they would do nothing during the night. Of course, she perfectly understood why. Yet, the differences between what they did & what she did were a boring realization, if that. Being a nocturnal creature, the night was time to do anything she needed to do that she couldn’t do during the hours she was awake during the day. But despite that, she wondered whether or not to do some exploring.
“Eh, I’m not particularly interested on the others,” Cosette replied, her lips curving into a mischievous smile around the little tube on the blood bag. Then, after finishing & licking up the last drop that lingered on her lips, she looked at Richter again. “I wonder how long it’ll take until I’m thirst again.”
Creo after eating to the end of the can and drank all the water in the water bottle he looked out side and saw the sun was just about to disappear. Knowing this he found some wooden planks around and stuck them to the window slots so they can provide some protection. Then went to were the only door was and put one of the stand alone aisle and blocked the door with it. After preparing the store for a night he went to the lounge and blocked the door with the desk that was in side.
Creo after all that, sat down on the couch and looked up to the cracked ceiling and remember the days when he was in the tank. Remembering on the days that he was out and trained him like a dog when afterwords through him back with in the tank for “safe keeping”. The liquid material with in the tank wasn’t all that clear so all he saw was the blinking lights of some of the machines. Along with the off shot of on of the military personal or scientist that past by the tank.
