“All right,” Oribella nodded whilst backing away from the man & holding her hands together before her chest. Before, she hadn’t been paying attention to the woman that seemed to know the young man & she felt bad about it for some reason. It just seemed like bad manners to her, & she was taught better.
“Maybe… She went home?” Oribella said thoughtfully before taking a step towards were the dog was heading. Thankfully, she could walk again.
Asher jumped from light post to light post gracefully, his deep blue eyes continuously scanning every face that his gaze fell on. He couldn’t think of any other way to find Oribella, but his current plan didn’t seem to be working. So, with a sigh, he jumped into a dark alley & hid his wings before stepping out into the sidewalk. ‘Maybe I should just ask around?’ he quickly thought, having little doubts about it.
“Um, hey. Have you seen a girl with long, blond hair—”
“Oh… my goodness. Are you an idol~!? Squee! Have you come here to shoot a movie, a commercial, a sitcom? Ohh! Maybe you sing! Cause, you know, I’m a pretty good singer myself. In fact, I bet you could introduce me to your producers & they’ll take me in a blink of an eye…!”
‘Oh… wow,’ Asher thought as he tried to get away from the still blabbering girl, but she followed him anyway.
Aaron gave a nod and followed after his dog. He walked with his hands in his pockets, feeling bad that he ignored his friend. “Oh, my name is Aaron by the way..” he said with a handsome smile, feeling it rude that he hadn’t introduced himself yet. He watched Oribella for a moment before looking forward so he wouldn’t stare at her once more. His dark eyes scanned the area, looking for any sign of his friend, though was sure his faithful friend would know where to go.
Chloe continued walking down the street, her eyes on the ground. She wasn’t paying much attention and bumped into a group of guys. “Huh? Oh I’m sorry..” she stated politely before she backed up. The group looked at her, smiling in a slightly evil way. Chloe gulped the lump in her throa down as she continued to back up. She was about to turn and run, but a male grabbed her and began dragging her into a close by alley. “Owe! Let me go!” she screamed, trying to get loose.
To lose the hyperactive girl that seemingly could not keep her lips sealed for even a few seconds, Asher had to hide within the dark contours of an alley. However, his peace lasted mere seconds before it was interrupted by a group of men following single one who kept yanking at a screaming woman. It was obvious that they were holding her against her will, so he wondered why no one else appeared to have noticed it. Maybe the other humans were much too frightened to say anything or get in the way?
Asher didn’t hesitate to come out of the shadows & confront the group of human men. He didn’t want to make it last long, so he got to the point by walking towards what appeared to be the leader & punching him straight on, which gave him the opportunity to gently & swiftly grab the human woman away from the danger. He lightly pushed her until she was right behind him. All of it in just a few seconds. “I don’t really have time for this, so how about you guys just leave?” he muttered with a bored tone but serious expression.
“Mm? Criminy… I didn’t introduce myself before, either,” Oribella realized after hearing Aaron say his name. She felt a little embarrassed, but she still couldn’t help but smile at him anyway. “My name is Oribella, it’s a pleasure to meet you Aaron. Good thing I now know the name of the man whose been such a great help ~”
Chloe was amazed by how this stranger seemed to come from no where and helped her. The men seemed intimidated by him, backing away since their leader had blood from the hit. They thought for a moment before running away, scared this man could literally kill them. Chloe blinked in amazement, looking to the man gratefully. “Uhm, thank you..” she said softly, getting a good look at him. She gasped once seeing his god like beauty. She wanted to comment on it, but she was too scared to even talk more than she had.
Aaron stopped walking once he felt something within him. He called it his sixth sense, for whenever he felt it, Chloe was in trouble. He didn’t want to trouble Oribella with running, so he swiftly picked her up and ran down the street, his dog running ahead of them and closing in on Chloe. “Chloe!” Aaron yelled once seeing her figure on a poor lit street. He hualted in his steps, placed Oribella on her feet, and looked to her silently, wondering whom was with her.
Not expecting to be picked up so suddenly, Oribella couldn’t help but squeak in surprise. She looked up at him once in his arms & studied his features, which brought her to the quick conclusion that there was something wrong with the woman by the name of Chloe. The more she thought about it & with every second that she remained in Aaron’s arms, she could feel her worry also take affect on her if it hadn’t already. However, a few moments later, she was put down. “Who… is she with?” she murmured, mostly to herself, curiously.
“It was no problem,” Asher replied with a small smile. “I’m just glad that I was here ahead of time… Are you hurt in anyway?” Silently, his worried gaze searched for any signs of pain or injuries. He wasn’t supposed to, but if necessary, he would use his powers to heal her.
Chloe shook her head. “I’m fine..just a bit banged up is all.” she responded in a soft voice. Chloe smiled slightly before looking to the side, seeing Aaron and that woman standing several yards away. “Aaron..” she gasped slightly. She found it curious that he always showed up when she was in danger. Aaron slowly approached the two, wondering whom had saved his friend. “Are you alright Chloe?” he asked before his dark orbs focused on her saviour.
“A-Asher?” Oribella whispered upon recognizing the man standing beside Chloe, her amethyst eyes widening in surprise. However, within a matter of seconds, she was hugged & twirled by Asher, who just couldn’t help but grin.
“I can’t believe this! I never thought that I would find you so fast! I mean, sure, I hoped…” Asher stopped talking, realizing that he was blabbering on. He pulled back a little to look at his friend’s lovely face, grinned & hugged her again, obviously very happy to have found Oribella.
“Are you okay, though? I bet you were scared…” he murmured with a concerned glint in his eyes.
“I was,” Oribella began quietly before her eyes brightened & a smile played on her lips. “But, Aaron was there ~”
Aaron watched as the two reunited. He walked over to Chloe and placed a hand to her shoulder. Chloe smiled to him before her eyes wandered over to Asher and Oribella. “I guess we don’t need to help her anymore then..” she commented to Aaron. He frowned to her and shook his head. “Be nice..” he stated.
“Um, Asher… My powers, I don’t…” Oribella trailed off into a quiet whisper whilst placing her hands atop the spot her heart resided. She didn’t know how long she had been sleeping, but she guessed that it was way beyond an hour. In turn, she wondered why her powers weren’t with her after such a long time had passed.
“Yeah, I know. We all do, actually. It’s not surprising, though. After all, you did push that huge thing back,” Asher replied as he patted Oribella’s head. “This also means that you have to stay here for a while… Until you’re fully recovered.” He smiled apologetically after seeing the shocked look on her. Then, he turned his attention back to the two humans.
“Ah, sorry. My name’s Asher. I’m this lovely creature’s father,” Asher introduced himself with a bright grin whilst resting his arm atop Oribella’s head. [Facial Expression: :3]
Chloe observed the two silently, she had very sensitive hearing. She wondered what they had meant by powers. When hearing the male speak towards them, ahe jumped slightly. “Youre her father?” she asked a bit surprised. “You look so young though..” Aaron blinked and quickly covered his friend’s mouth. “Sorry for her rudeness. She’s not very social..” he said with a very apologetic expression. Aaron then sighed and looked to the two once more. ‘i have a feeling they aren’t human..’ he though to himself.
“My… father?” Oribella echoed in a tiny voice whilst blinking a couple times in a row out of curiosity. Then, after it had finally hit her, her spazzy side showed. “Aiyaa-aah~! I’m not your daughter,” she flailed underneath Asher’s hand, which had been placed firmly atop her head to keep her flailing arms at a distance.
“Heh… Well, she’s not really my daughter, per se, but I like to make her spaz out. I’m more like her best friend,” Asher replied with a kitty grin. Then, looking over at the human male, he smiled. “It’s alright, I take no offense whatsoever. Ah, you must be Aaron, eh?... Thank you for watching over her but although we don’t want to be a burden, would it be alright if you showed us a place to stay?” At that point, Oribella’s flailing arms stopped & a light blush of embarrassment tinted her cheeks.
Aaron chuckled at the sight. “Of course, you may stay with us.” he offered, causing Chloe to glare at him. “We don’t have the room Aaron!” she protested. “Come now Chloe, we have two extra rooms.” With a sigh, she finally agreed. She didn’t want these strangers in her home, but Aaron was usually a good judge of character.
Hearing Aaron’s answer, Oribella’s expression brightened. She had a great urge to hug him, but hesitated on even the thought because it might be seen an over obnoxious. Certainly, that was something she wanted to avoid after all his help. Nevertheless, she couldn’t help but smile sweetly at him. “Thank you.”
At first, Asher was a bit surprised when Aaron offered them their home. It wasn’t what he was trying to imply, but he was grateful nevertheless. After all, he ad no money in exchange for an apartment of their own. “Thank you for this. We’ll try to get out of your hair as soon as possible,” he replied with a smile whilst looking at Chloe.
Chloe gave a small smile towards Asher, she didn’t mind really since he had saved her. She looked up to Aaron whom picked up his dog’s leash. “Alright, let’s go then before it gets too cold.” he stated before walking down the street. Chloe folded her arms and followed after him, quite unsure of how all this would play out. She hoped everything would be alright.
Asher grinned & put an arm across Oribella’s shoulders as they walked together after the two humans. He could slightly feel the emotion of Chloe: uncertainty. However, it was just a hint. Sensing emotions wasn’t his specialty, he had just been a Warrior back in Heaven… Either way, he just shrugged after seeing his best friend’s smile. ‘Things will turn out alright.’
