No seriously. I can’t be the only crazed fan here! How else has seen the anime based off that wonderful game [that goes by the same name] Namco/Bandai calls Tales of the Abyss?
For an anime based off a game, it’s actually wonderful (especially since it sticks with the game’s plot), unlike Xenosaga’s Xenogears. >>

As for the series, it’s practically the same as the game (despite a few minor details here and there) but it was still wonderful.

Uggh i really want to play that game. Ever since i played Tales of Symphonia i have been hooked on the tales series.

I’ve never played Tales of Symphonia before (although a certain someone is begging me to x3), but you’ll definately enjoy Tales of the Abyss! It may not be the best Tales of.. game now, but it sure was back then! You’ll love it, trust me! The only problem now, is finding the game cheaper than $40… Gosh, why are all the good games so expensive? D:

Yep, thats how you spelled it. I haven’t played Vesperia either though… Abyss is my only Tales game now that I think about it. Wow I’m sad. Dx

And good luck! I know all the fonic hymns including the grand fonic hymn, the secret meaning behind the grand fonic hymn, have the timeline from AD to ND (until Luke rid of the Score), have the actual game which doesn’t say:
“Oh yeah so Original!Ion fell ill and died isn’t it wonderful!?” it actually explains ALL OF THE STORY behind everything (excluding Jade’s past but having watched the entire anime I know that story pretty damn well. And in the game you get to know Nebilim much more), know most of the defintions, registered on the offcial site and forum PLUS I double-checked all my info (thank you Ion for deleting my file! *kills Fon Master Ion* YOU TWISTED LITTLE BITCH!!! DEVIL DEMON DIEIEEE…. yes I am still pissed) so I know that all I know is right!

EDIT 1 -bunch o questions-
You know, I’m reading my TOA timeline out of boredom and I could never figure out what BD and ND (ex: BD 2550: Cell particles were discovered & ND 0006: Yulia’s 1st disciple, Flail Albert, became first fon master of the Order of Lorelei with Yulia’s guidence), could mean.
At first I thought BD meant “before dawn [age]” but BD were the years DURING the Dawn Age. So that shattered all my theories…

That and if the Fon Master and the leader of the Oracle Knights were both important figures in the Order of Lorelei, once Mohs is exterminated couldn’t Ion edit the Order of Lorelei’s ways (or at least until another Gand Maestro was chosen)? Especially since the Grand Maestro faction would be forced to center around the fon master without Mohs around? Ion most likely wouldn’t do this but… if it’s possible.. I’ll gladly take Ion’s place and manipulate every sucker who worships me as fon master. XD

AND END-SERIES Q yay!
When Lorelei formed in front of Luke to say he’s gained it’s utmost respect, and you see Asch’s hand twitch as if he were still alive. I know in the end it’s still a debate whether the person in Tataroo Valley is Luke, Asch, or Lusch (both) but… despite that… who did Susanne and Duke Fabre burry? o.o Now THATS creepy.

OH more questions!
Ok so if Ion-sama dies and you see his fonons disperese and disappear (since he is afterall, Original!Ion’s 7th replica) does that mean he was sent to the same place all the others were sent to from the Tower of Rem? He also spoke to Tear after she sang the Grand Fonic Hymn before going to the Tower of Rem, could there be remains? Do dead replicas have connections between the living?

Ion also says before he dies “Ichiban no… (My most precious/cherished…” (<—-Any Angel Beats! fan would CRY SO HARD after hearing those words! HinataxYui fans know what I mean! TT.TT) and I assume he was speaking about Anise. Jade teased Anise saying “there’s a scent of love in the air—it smells like a certain young noble” during one of the skits in the game. Did ion have feelings for Anise? I MUST KNOW.

Tear sends Luke off whispering “I love you”. It is unknown if Luke heard it or not. Though I am pretty sure not, if Asch’s hand twitched in the end could luke have heard through Asch somehow?

If Ion died before Sync, did Sync gain Ion’s power like Luke did Asch’s? Or when Original!Ion died, did Ion gain his power? Is this the reason for his ability to use Daathic artes despite tiring himself to death?

Sorry for so many questions. It’s only the ones I couldn’t figure out… I haven’t finished the game or manga (I have the anime though) yet so… many questions still have a chance to be answered ha ha

Wait how did Luke/Asch/Lusch get to Tataroo Valley!? Maybe Lorelei saved him? Thats my theory but… wait no i just confused myself hold on… OK Lorelei most likely saved/revived Luke/Asch/Lusch and allowed him a visit to Tataroo Valley. Is this theory or fact?

I’ve played and beated Tales of Symphonia, and I’ve been wanting to buy the anime for all the Tales of… series SO bad for the longest time. But until I get a job I can’t. What angers me though, is that I STILL don’t know the name of the stupid freaking tree at the end of the game (Symphonia)!!! Dx I need to look it up or something LOL

But as for the anime part of it, my favorite was Tales of Phantasia! I want to buy that game the most now because the anime was so interesting! ^^

Tales of the Abyss’s anime -just- got liscensed to come to America! Although, unlike Xenosaga/Xenogears, its most likely coming over sub-only. As for the tree at the end of the Symphonia game: Yggdrasil

Yeah, my friend and I are playing through the Xenosaga games right now too! We just started the first one a week ago so we aren’t far or anything, but it’s fun so far =P

I speak some Japanese so if the translation is wrong I usually know the mistake and correct it myself. So I’m fine. English voices suck anyways (although Abyss’s game had quite an english cast. Just didn’t like Tear’s voice. She’s 16, she sounded 25 >> And really EMOTIONLESS! It also creeped me out how all the Ions had the same voice actor, but the naive adorable Ion you see throughout most of the game has this girl-ish voice then Sync is like.. more deep.. and.. yeah its wierd.. I dunno how a man could have such a voice. o.o).

I’m stuck on the first Xenosaga game. I remember a cutscene with the colonel and then.. yeah thats all I remember. Probably have to start over. x3 I hope these cutscenes are skipable cause I emember the beginning perfectly.

Oh wow on the back of ToA’s instruction manual is an add for Xenosaga Episode 3 XD

Lol, thanks xD yeah, she owns all three(?) games and so we’re going in order right now. The cutscenes are in fact skippable.. just push start and then triangle…... not that I memorized that or anything LOL

Well I guess you could say that I’m a huge fan of the Namco branch of the Tales Studio Inc. considering I’ve played almost all of the games they’ve come out with. Though ToA was good and ToV was less than expected Tales of Symphonia is the one that I like best. I can say that with confidence simply because of the characters. I also liked the story the best. I can say that the sequel to ToS wasn’t all that great. From the point of storyline and characters, ToS wins my seal of approval.

@Haru_Rivers: Honestly, it doesn’t look like Namco can do too good with sequels to any of the Tales of… games. The games are wonderful but I’d only expect the sequel to ToS to be… well… of little less quality.
