“Well I was enjoying it until you decided to rudely answer my question. Go jump into a cliff or something, I don’t want to see you,” Atropos argued not bothering to make this a long conversation. She kicked at a rock just under her foot and it hit Lachesis’s ankle, “Oops, sorry about that.”

Amaryllis frowned. He was right. She should show more kindness towards him despite his rude exterior. Removing herself from under the wool cover, she slipped from the bed and felt around for the door. The difficult task were the stairs ahead but she could manage. Once up on top floor, she scurried to find the wall and used it to guide her. “Severin?” Amaryllis called out helplessly, heading in the way she thought he was.

Severin came out of his, what he called a kitchen, and stared at her with a roll of bread in his mouth. He mumbled in an excited tone, “That Nix creature didn’t eat everything! Apparently he doesn’t like bread, that’s great news!” He went back to pulling things out before realizing that she couldn’t see, “You didn’t fail much on your way up here did you?” his tone changed with that waking up a little more from before.

The sound of Severin’s sudden cheerful tone of voice caused Amaryllis’s heart to stop for a mere moment. Once she regained herself, she couldn’t help but chuckle. It was humorous how a simple loaf of bread could make him ecstatic. After a moment, his tone changed drastically. He sounded as if he almost cared about her. “No, it was fine. Thank you,” she replied with a smile laying perfect upon her chaste lips. “I wanted to apologize for before. I shouldn’t have snapped at you like that. And I had no idea the bed I was sleeping in was the only one. If I had known I wouldn’t have ever even taken it. I want to thank you for that but, honestly, you deserve to have your bed.”

Severin looked at her plainly after that, not really noticing the change in himself from happy to neutral, “Yeah well, I don’t sleep on it much anyway. It’s too small.” Going back to pulling what he could out of the pantry, several more loafs of bread came out, some jam he made out of seal awhile ago, and random little snacks like almonds and peanuts. For the average person it would’ve been a boring and a non-diverse, but for him, these things were a luxury. He couldn’t go out and buy most of the stuff so seeing that a lot of it had still been there was a relief.
