Cyan never had to worry about others around him, everything seemed perfect and the world was at peace. No one had heard of war or death for centuries before someone stood up with a question: Why was nothing ever changing? At first everyone ignored the lunacy that spawned from his mouth, but when people really began to think about it, they started changing. It was slow and no one understood it. Doctors couldn’t solve the problem and began making new medicines to counteract the disease or whatever it was. But after a few years people realized that they didn’t have a bacteria or virus, they were aging. When word got around the world, not just a few select people grew old, but many. It was as if some sort of daemon were called forth to place a curse on humanity. Of course the blame was put onto the man who started the whole thing; a twenty-two year old that couldn’t help but see the strangeness that was around them.
Although he was hung, it didn’t stop the changing of everyone. And this brought up a new question: Why had they stopped growing in the first place? Had time stopped? But no matter how many questions were thrown into the mess, one truth stood out brighter than the rest; nothing would be the same ever again. A few people continued to stay as they were, unchanging. Their ignorance and confusion and stubbornness to believe such a thing were possible kept age and pain away from them. Cyan was one such person. Why would Seurtr, the god who created man, punish the world in this way. However, when he noticed his nails elongating from his fingers, something had to be done. It was time to turn the world back the way it was supposed to be.
All he had to go on were old legends his now dead grandfather told him. Something about magic and an old spell book trapped deep in an underground cavern someplace north of his hometown. It was just a story to keep him out of trouble, but now that things were going crazy, it was time to check it out.

So that’s background information for you. Hopefully it was boring or cliché (but what isn’t cliché nowadays?). So we’re going to start in the village of Geshyr. It’s close to the ocean right next to a bigger city that has a major effect on the economy; trading and selling fish. After the world began to change, strange creatures began appearing like daemons and monsters, so this is a land of magic. No ordinary people can just cast spells though. Most people don’t even know of it currently. It must be taught by someone or something and can only be used if that person is bonded with an animal. I’ll go into detail later. Here’s the character sheet to start off if you’re interested. Let’s have fun!

Now here’s me!
Name: Cyan Tei Lengford
Age: Eighteen
Town: Geshyr
Magic: Flame
Animal: Dragonfly
Bio: His whole life he was happy, and now that he thinks about it, he can’t remember when he wasn’t eighteen. Cyan’s parents live in a house close to his and his grandfather stays with him. They are very close. When he died of age two years after the Changing was found about, his life became much less happy and full.
Personality: Cyan never lets his dreams fall, they stick with him until the end. He tries to be as nice as possible even to his enemies, but if you mess with his friends, there is going to be hell to pay.

Bio: Vister has been worried about this sudden aging of everyone. Just as his parents die from an unforseen event (an attack on his town) he traveled around the forest area’s looking for a nearby village or town to start his life again, he ran into an unusually looking wolf, that become his “soul-mate” and now follows him everywhere and does what he says.
Personality: Curiouse, laid-back, and not easily angred (ironic on the fact that his entire family was killed)
Alright.. so bonding. I wanted this to be in a seperate post so that it wouldn’t be such a mindful xD
When a human comes across an Artifact of power they can call forth the ancient magic from within it. This only works now because the world began to change again. The Artifact grants it’s ability to the user and curses them. However, the curse can be very helpful as it requires that you bond with a creature from the earth whether it be a fox or an nymph.
However, there are other ways to obtain magic. If you come across a Daemon, they can grant one magic ability supposing they don’t kill you first. The ability is of your choosing.
The animal you bond to will be a part of your sould the rest of your life. You cannot return magic or trade your bonds. These animals can understand what you say when you say it and can talk to you in return.
As for the curse, if your animal demands you not to do something, you will not be able to do it. The bond prevents you from doing so. And if any of them demand that you to do something, you must do it. It is the law of magic.
It’s pretty simple, but if it’s confusing just PM me.
Well to put it simply with Vister. He found this strange wolf (lets say half deamon) and it has one ability and that is to bond to whoever it chooses (In otherwords chose Vister as his master) but gave Vister the ability to use the wolf’s “wings” for temporary things such as fighting or fleeing, other then that nothing else. So hopefully that works with your “rules” lol XD

Name: Cecil Dao Age: 20 Town: Geshyr Magic: None, as of now. Animal: None, yet. Bio: Her life was pretty monotone; days passed one by one, each one resembling the past day in pretty much the same way. However, that had changed just a little while ago, and Cecil was still not used to having her relatives age and die. She couldn’t even bare to see her reflection in the mirror and see she was getting older. She couldn’t get used to the sensation of knowing she would keep on dying more every day. Since she began to age, she had moved out of her home (in which she lived only with her mother and her younger brother) and had tried to be as independent as possible by her own means. Personality: Cecil is a hard-worker and definitely someone who marches to her own drum. Even though she is still relatively “young” person, she looks at her life with a lack of the usual wonder young people had for it. Some could even say that Cecil is pessimistic since she hasn’t really had anything worth striving for yet. App:http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/145/l_b729e515d737408c8039d50b4d36964d.jpg
OOC: Ooh! I like the number of people in this forum xD I think Naito is still going to join, but we can start before then. And after reading Jennor’s post, I had to say that my character doesn’t have abilities as of yet either. But my character sheet is what it will become. Starting!
The day grew sunny and hot making the people of Geshyr sweat as if to make their own sea. Cyan stared up at some birds floating around the sky above him, circling like vultures ready to soon eat the dying victim. Of course, it probably was because of the fact he laid on the ground for hours trying to ignore the heat. His air conditioner broke down just that morning and the repair guys were still fixing it. So there he was in his back yard, trying to stay out of everyone’s way until he could finally be cool again. “You know,” Cyan said out loud to himself, “I guess I could go down to some store and cool off there huh?” Standing off and leaving the fixing to the fixers, he strode off down the street to the nearest place that wasn’t threatening to melt him alive.
Vister made his way into the town, Geshyr. It looked almost desolate as he entered. The streets and even the yards were empty. “Vister, it seems their all in side maybe something is wrong?” said his good companion Star, her voice was gently to the ears, but it defiantly didn’t sound human as she spoke. Vister continued to walk down the street in his unusually get up. He had bought a cloak in the last town that covered his head and hid his body in the brown material. “We will just have to see then” he said as he made his way deeper into the town.
“Damn heat wave..” Selena mummbled to herself, a beat of sweat falling down her forehead. She whiped her head and looked up to the sky, squinting her eyes as the sun shone in them. After releasing a sigh, she went into her apartment to sit in front of her fan, though it seemed it was broken, having a snow leapord inside was not the best idea. “Geeze Daphne..not another one!” she scolded her animal life partner. After sighing once more, she left the apartment, her rare leapord at her side, and left to go buy a new one, she needed to keep cool or would literally go mad.
OoC: I guess as the RP goes along, I’ll eventually have some idea for my character’s magic and her animal (though I’m inclined to make it a dove), but we’ll see. I’m not really even if I should give her magic! It’s awesome to be in control of her, bwahahaha.
Cecil had been fixing some papers at home, however to no real productivity. The whole morning had been spent in trying to make some way to make ends meet. There were bills to pay, and with the scorching heat wave that was tempting her to the last shred of her being to turn on the air conditioner, Cecil knew she did not have the money to afford it. A sweaty hand soon creeped up along the side of her face to wipe some of the excess sweat off. It was so hot, it was almost distracting. “If I place this money in the bank…Maybe…No, they don’t have interest on such small accounts…If this…” she spoke aloud to herself. It was hard living alone and trying to be independent when you couldn’t even get a descent job to begin with. With a sigh, Cecil put down those depressing papers that augured that she would soon be broke. “I can’t take this anymore!” she shouted, casting the mountain of papers aside, getting up, and storming out the door only to be greeted by the wonderful rays of sun that quickly begun to burn her rather light complexion.
“Just great,” she mumbled and kept walking along the pebble and concrete ground. There weren’t much people around the town. But she supposed it was due to the colossal heat that was so tormenting them. “I better go look for another job…” she finally decided as she kept walking along the pavement, looking straight ahead as if toward a more lucrative future.
Vister followed the sidewalk through many little houses, and soon ended up in a parking lot connected to a store. He looked at it and then swung his bag around to the front of him. Searching through the stuff, he noticed he needed a little bit more water, and this heat…he looked up into the sky, “This heat is bad” he said, “Is this another curse?”. Star just laughed at his comment, “Of course not, come lets go inside, my feet are killing me from this hot stone” Vister looked at his fellow angelic appearnce companion. Her wings were folded up against her so it looked like she was normal, but she panting quiet heavily. “I need water anyways” he said as if he didn’t want to agree with his companion. So they both strolled their way over to the store.
Name: James
Age: 19
Town: Geshyr
Magic: lightning
Animal: Eagle
Bio: He was born a considerably normal boy, growing up in a comfortable middle-class society in his peaceful birthtown. Once he came of age, he moved out of his comfortable home in another part of town. He doesn’t visit his parents much, usually them being the ones to visit him.
Personality: He has a tendency to be quiet around others and shy. That is his facade, if you peel back further you can see his friendliness and sense of humor. Though he is somber, he is also quite kind to other people.

Cecil’s small feet soon brought her to a nearby store located beside a parking lot. The lot was desolate apart from a young man who seemed to be headed toward the store. Looking up at the sun, Cecil squinted her eyes and brushed off some sweat drops from her forehead. This day was already so hellish, hot and hellish. Sighing, she turned to look at the store, only to see a ‘Help wanted’ sign stuck to the cool glass door. “Well, a job is a job,” she mumbled, looking at the sky once more. Up above, a white dove crossed the sky and landed on the ceiling of the building ahead. “Poor thing, it must be scorching under this heat..” Looking down once more, Cecil headed toward the store. As soon as she had pushed open those cool glass doors, a wave of cold surrounded her body. Oh, it had felt so nice to feel something as refreshing as air conditioner under this heat. She knew she couldn’t afford this luxury at home, but if she got this job, then at least she could enjoy some bit of cool weather for a tad bit. “Excuse me,” she turned to the man behind the counter, “I’m here to inquire about the vacant spot for a job.” Cecil place a sweet smile on her face, she had to give a good impression of herself, didn’t she?
It felt almost lonely on the walk there, no one was in sight due to the heat and usually the place had been pretty up beat; people talking to one another with happy greetings, hugging and shouting and people everywhere; but the dry season had just started, and it never helped the economy much as fish seemed harder to catch over in the neighboring town. Everything did change when he entered the store though, the air was cold as ice, people had been hanging around the place even though it was clearly against the rules, and his mood jumped up by more than ten percent. “Hey Serah!” Cyan called to a nearby girl he once was friends with, she gave her greetings and they parted leaving him to wander the store aimlessly.
The scruffy man behind the counter motioned for Cecil to wait beside the counter as he was looking for the manager of the store somewhere behind the confines of the backdoor of the store. So while she waited, Cecil rested her bum against the counter, resting her palms on it as well to hold herself upright. She peered around the room, listening to indistinct voices of people talking about their lives, what they were up to. She then suddenly caught the voice of a man greeting somebody she didn’t know. She smiled apologetically at both, although she didn’t have anything to apologize for. Sighing softly, she crossed her feet over one another; grey ballerina-flats tapping gently against one another as she waited for the manager to come.
