“Do not cry, love,” he stated, his smile forming on his lips as he pressed his lips to her forehead. Kalen glanced to his companion as she began walking away before he focused his attention on his past lover once more. “Who changed you?” He questioned her curiously, his dark eyes peering down into her own pair. Kalen frowned as he continued to stare into her eyes.
Margo’s bright pair of ruby eyes stared at the stranger curiously, her eyes searching from head to toe. “Margo…” The werewolf stated softly, before she pushed some strands of her silver hair away from her face. “Yours?” She questioned, her frown growing as she peered into his eyes, trying to determine if the stranger is friend or foe.
“Krade…...the angel fugitive.” His smirk faded as he said that, but he decided to share his intentions with Margo. “I’m the one who left to help the vampires, though I found them almost as dispicible as the ones who decided that angels should be used as weapons. That’s beside the fact, I thought…...maybe there was a way to end the war on both spectrums. Just to….stop the fighting.” His face became dull and cold, yet somehow the charm in his eyes refused to leave. A slur of emotions hit Krade, but he was most concerned about how Margo would react.
Selene released a faint sigh as she recomposed herself to not cry. “Gregory..” she said with another sigh. She wiped the rest of her tears away. “It was that or die, and I was not ready to die.” The vampiress felt ashamed that she chose a cursed life instead of death. Every night she grew more attatched to being the race she was. “my apologies..”
Kalen gave her an apologetic smile as he placed a warm hand to her cheek, gently caressing the skin there with his thumb. “There is no need to apologize, Selene.” Scanning the area, the angel then made a quick decision. Taking the vampire’s hand in his own, Kalen tugged on her gently in the direction of his home. “Come with me,” he stated, his velvet like voice being rather enticing much like the rest of him.
Unsure of how to react, the young werewolf stayed emotionless. Slowly, a questionable frown shaped her face. “So…your intentions now?” Margo’s bright ruby eyes narrowed slightly as she continued to study Krade, trying to decide either to put her trust in him or not. Her jaw clenched as she continued to ponder on the stranger.
Unsure if Margo would assist him, Krade answered with caution. “To end the war without killing many people, more or less I’m trying to end the war by giving both sides a reason to stop. Both sides have taken the violent way of communicating, though, leaving me with little room to help.” He stared at her emotionless face and had a hunch she didn’t want him for around much longer. This concerned him, “if you would like me to leave, I shall.”
Selene felt his warm hand against her frozen one. She gasped slightly, not really expecting him to do so. A smile then curled her lips as she nodded. “As you wish..” she said softly. She then took a step in the direction he wanted her to go. She was happy, on the inside, that she was able to find him and he wouldn’t hate her for what she had become.
He merely shrugged his shoulders. “It’s always more amusing to have a little bit of playtime.” Gregory combed some hair away from his handsome face, half illuminated by the emerging moon. “However, well-dressed women never represented the rational.” As he spoke, the dandy appeared to be adjusting the collar of his shirt. “I’m afraid there won’t be much excitement here tonight Benji.” the vampire commented rather casually. “Unless you look forward to some romantic drama.”
The female listened to the vampire half interested while she walked about the room and occasionally picked up items and examined them. She lost interest in them quickly and put them down before she moved to the next ones. Then she lifted her head to look at Gregory when she caught his last statement. “Romance? Gag me,” she replied with disgust.
The angel led the vampiress to his home, a smile curling his lips as they walked. Every once in a while, Kalen would look back to Selene, finding her just as beautiful the same day he had met her. After a couple of minutes, the two had reached the home he shares with Margo. He looked to Selene with a slight smile as he began to open the door. “Just to let you know, Margo decorated the house, not me.” He stated with a light chuckle.
Margo shook her head at his last comment. “No, I’m just…” She frowned, averting her gaze to the side as if she was searching for a word. “Processing.” The werewolf added with the slightest hint of a smile. Crossing her arms over her chest, her frown grew as she pondered on Krade’s words. “I like your idea very much, sir, but-” The werewolf peered straight into the stranger’s eyes, her ruby pair rather intimidating. “It will be hard to do…”
“I am quite aware of this, I mean, why else would I try to explain something like this to someone I have just met?” There was a sense of seriousness and playfullness in his voice. Krade glanced at his watch. “It’s getting late,” he announced as he started on his way back. Then a memory of years passed poped inside of his thoughts. “Also,” he stated as he departed,“if you meet a vampire named Gregory-” Krade paused, in speech and in movement. “Avoid him at all costs.”
“I can’t avoid him,” she stated with a small playful smile curling her lips. “I am looking for him.” Margo then searched Krade once more with her brilliant ruby eyes. “If you need me, find me, ” she stated giving a small wave. “I’m not that hard to find..” And with that stated, the werewolf turned and began heading home, her silver hair moving with each step she took. Margo released a soft sigh as she walked, knowing she will find the couple at her home.
He smirked, for the determination in her voice surprised him. At that moment Krade remembered something of the utmost importance, he informed his new ally in a shouting voice 100 yards away, “Please don’t tell Kalen you met me!” He then used his wings and flew back to the suburbs and then examined the statue. Krade then jumped on top of the statue, pressed buttons no one else knew of, and opened the hatch on the statue and locked the marble top behind him. As he got to the bottom of a lengthy ladder, he stared into his home.
Selene looked around the house in silence, taking in all the decor. She closed her eyes for a
moment before looking to Kalen once more. “Why have you brought me here?” she asked curiously.
A slight frown shaped Kalen’s face as he shifted his gaze to his past love. “To talk,” he stated calmly as he moved to the couch and sat himself upon it in silence. “If we talk in public some one may see us.” The angel released a heavy sigh, running a hand through his dark hair before he averted his eyes tot he floor. “Sit, Selene.”
Margo frowned once hearing the stranger’s words, though gave a nod in response. The young werewolf then began walking home, her ruby eyes scanning the area as she did so. After a few minutes she had reached the door and opened it, peeking her head inside and giving Kalen a smile.
Selene released a faint sigh as she nodded. She walked over and took a seat on the couch, sitting a foot from Kalen. “Then talk..” she whispered faintly. She ran a hand through her red wavy hair, pulling it over her right shoulder. She nervously played with it, trying to keep herself calm. She never thought she would be sitting beside Kalen so soon.
