The youth grimaced a little. She had other things to do. Who gave a damn about school when she thrived as a legend in the underground? She straightened her back a little, and played with a loose strand of hair. “Nii-san,” the youth spoke up, quietly. “what do you think of that?” She nodded her chin towards the TV, which was turned on while Chris made dinner. It was his habit to do that. The news reporter went on excitedly about this new phenomenal force that had been nicknamed “Kira”. Luckily, no one she knew had been targeted so far. What a bore.

Chris diverted his attention to the television. “Kira, huh…” He muttered, the case was full of mysteries. There was no one who even knew where to begin. The whole police department had their hands tied. New names turned up everyday, Kira’s victims they would say. “There’s no proof that this ‘Kira’ is behind the deaths, there’s not even a proof that Kira exists.” He answered and crossed his hands. “There’s something very fishy going on behind the scenes.” Chris added and leaned back with a very distinctive frown on his face. “If it was just Kira .... but this damned hacker group, C-16 something or other, just keeps slipping right through our fingers.” It was annoying at best, they were all criminals and it was the police’s job to stop them ... things were not going so well, unfortunately.

Sasori drank tea at the time Chris spoke of C-16 angrily. She smiled in amusement, her lips hidden behind the cup. This was even more reason to keep him in the dark. The youth laughed quietly inside. It was all just too amusing. Nii-san should have caught the clue already. She leaned back in her chair slightly. Her cousin was surely not street smart. That was for nerdy gangsters. She stretched her arms, and reached across the table for an apple. The news program grew more dynamic at this point in time. The girl blinked a few times in plain apathy. “This sure is annoying.” she commented. “What a stupid way to get attention. Looks like someone needs a life.”

Chris scratched his head and tried to understand the meaning behind the reports. “Well, I guess it just goes hand in hand.” He said and yawned. “It’s been a long day, I’ll go to sleep early.” Chris got up and just before he walked into the living room he turned around and smiled on Sasori. “Be a good girl and wash the dishes for me, would you?” He said and dissapeared from he sight. Making himself comfortable on the couch, he covered himself up and soon fell asleep, hoping that Sasori would hear out his request.

“Keh…” Sasori bit into her apple again. When she had finished, the youth dangled the chewed out apple core in front of her nose. “I’ll chew you out too…if you keep getting on my nerves…” she mumbled darkly, and stepped down from her chair. The TV was still screaming. Sasori raised an eyebrow. It amazed her how her cousin could fall asleep when that thing singing at the top of its lungs. She turned it off, annoyed, and gathered up the dishes on the table. She wiped her hands on the rag after she had finished, doing as good a job as she can while keeping quiet, the youth walked back to her room. She reached for the doorknob, and seemed to pause. Then, she shook her head, and shuffled towards the door. Grabbing her jacket from the hook near the door, her blank eyes scurried over Chris’s sleeping form. She stared at Chris for a few minutes, until something vibrated in her pocket.

“Kida-dono.” the voice was respectful.

Sasori sighed mildly, a hint of emotion crawling into her eyes. “I know.” She fished a pair of dark sunglasses out of her pocket, and placed them over her eyes. She opened the door, and raised her gaze to meet expected figures. The youth snapped her cell phone shut. “Let’s go.”

/Making another character, profile is in the first post/

The young detective’s dreams were chaotic, as much as you could expect from the nature of our mind. He was not aware of his cousin leaving the appartment on her own. Whatever her reason was, it had to be important enough for her to be worth hiding.

Meanwhile…

“You know that killing the principal isn’t enough, they all gotta pay.” / “I know! Stop pestering me, dammit!” / “Aw, come on, I’m just teasing.” A strange dialogue from a messy room. Iori hasn’t used his death note over a week now and Shikawo was getting somewhat bored. “Fine, fine…I’ll write down all of their names, how about that?” / “Excellent!” The death god answered and praised Iori’s name. “I never would have imagined that getting revenge is so easy, hehe…”

Ooc;; the shinigami’s picture is creepy O-O

Sasori settled into the comfortable leather seat. Her face had a mildly bored expression on it. “Nii-san’s restricting my freedom tomorrow night. I know I’m pushing my margins here, but the transaction’s got to be done tonight.”

The men around her nodded. The one who sat in the shotgun replied, “We understand your urgency Kida-dono. The next target is a society who has been agonizing our existence for a period of time.”

“The Black Hand eh?” Sasori was pushing the buttons on her phone. “Sounds like a wannabe terroristic organization who wants to copy the ones who murdered that Austria-Hungarian Prince before World War I.”  A few strands of hair fell in front of her eyes. “Is Koyuki-san there yet?”

“Yes he is, Kida-dono. He’s been waiting for your arrival.”

The car screeched to a graceful stop. Sasori hopped out. “Good.”

“You know, Shikawo…” Iori lifted his head and stared at the ceiling. “It’s too bad I can’t tell anyone about my powers.” He lamented. / “You can, for all I care.” Shikawo answered with his usual, creepy smile. “But that would mean game over for you.” / “You mean us.” Iori quickly reacted./ “Not really, I’d just find someone else to give the Death Note to.” Shikawo laughed and floated infront of the window. Iori sighed as he finished writing down all the names of the teachers. He wasn’t very perceptive in these matters, it didn’t occur to him that the sudden deaths of all the school’s teachers could be a bit more suspicious for the police.

Back in the appartment…

Chris was sound asleep, a side-effect of the hassle going on at the police station, no doubt. His cellphone started to vibrate, the continuous sound of the cellphone’s shell and the glass of the table was not enough to wake Chris up though. The room was lit with a green light from the phone’s display and a distinctive letter announced an arrival of a text message. I know what you’re looking for…

Sasori rushed into a brilliantly lit laboratory, where a man with orange hair sat in a large and rather comfortable looking chair. He was playing with his cellphone, the latest gadget on the market no doubt. Sasori knew that Koyuki-san changed phones as many times as he changes his clothes per day. He had a handsome, if not extremely beautiful face, and always wore a smirk of triumph.

She approached him, and plopped down on the large bureau which sat in front of him. “Playing with Chris-nii-san won’t be fun.” she said as the monitor lighted up beside her. “He’s a detective, I’m a hacker. Justice and crime can’t exist side by side. That’s a paradox.”

“But my dear Kida-kun,” Sunao Koyuki smiled. “the world is only a fabric of lies. Let us call things by their proper names, shall we?”

She raised one eyebrow at him. “You’re taunting nii-san again.” she stated bluntly, her fingers working rapidly on the keyboard. “How dreadful.”

“Morality is what we use with others that we immensely dislike Kida-kun.” her partner replied, eying the zeros and ones on her screen with the least bit of interest. “Besides, I am only giving him a clue, a catalyst if you will, to speed up this game of cat and mouse for Kira.”
